Bet Against Breast Cancer is Wings Cancer Foundation’s largest annual fundraiser and one of the best parties of the year. It’s a casino-themed night at The Memphis Zoo, with celebrity hosts, a wine pull, live music, and playfully pink attire. This year, Wings hosted their third annual Bet Against Breast Cancer on Saturday, September 15th. The night was perfect, with beautiful weather, a large crowd ready to have fun, great food and drink, and Party Planet jamming on stage all night.

This is the second year Huey’s has been involved with Bet Against Breast Cancer. We had so much fun last year, that we were excited to be able to be a part of it again this year! If you attended Saturday, you may have noticed the trays of sliders for guests at the end of the night. We were happy to donate our Little Miners Bacon Cheddar Burgers to the event, so guests could grab one on their way out the door.

The most fun we had, though, was providing all of the bartenders for the event. A crew of 16 Huey’s bartenders showed up at the zoo Saturday evening, ready to work hard and have fun. At the end of the night, we were honored to donate all of our tips back to Wings Cancer Foundation, at a total of $872.00!

Wings Cancer Foundation was founded in 1996 as a support tool for those diagnosed with cancer. Wings Cancer Foundation has programs and services to help people with cancer and their loved ones understand cancer, manage their lives through treatment and recovery, and find the emotional support they need. And best of all, all of their help is free. Wings supports each individual journey through everyday solutions and long term inspiration. This may mean counseling a confused child, helping a patient find a wig, or simply listening. Recently, their services have grown to include yoga classes and nutrition education, spiritual guidance, support groups, prosthetics, wigs, and hospital visits. The fourth annual Bet Again Breast Cancer has already been set for Saturday, September 14, 2013. Mark it on your calenders now, because you will not want to miss a super fun event benefiting such a great cause. See you there!
