Soup Sunday for Youth Villages

We can’t even keep up with how many time we have participated in the Soup Sunday benefiting Youth Villages! It’s one of our favorite fundraiser and Thomas Boggs was even involved many years ago. Every year in February, the FedEx Forum hosts the event called Soup Sunday, a huge fundraiser for Youth Villages. You can read more here. Huey’s Giving To Others for the Holidays

Every Holiday season Huey’s employees come together to help those in need. We donate thousands of dollars in gifts or gift cards to families and kids, collect warm clothing items for a coat drive and feed those in need on Christmas Day. Each stores spend hours collecting money from their co-workers, shopping and then wrapping all of the gifts to families and kids how need some holiday cheer. This year we had three different non-profit organizations and raised over $4,700! 86 Illiteracy

Did you know that only 32% of Shelby County Elementary school students are proficient in Reading? And 50% of American adults are unable to read simple materials such as a food label? That is why we are partnering up with Literacy Mid-South and Memphis Athletic Ministries to help end illiteracy. Literacy Mid-South is an organization that provides literacy educational programs for adults and children to help them achieve the critical literacy skills they need to navigate the world. Huey’s Annual Holiday Giving

Last week was very heart melting as we dropped off donations for four different non-profit organizations for our annual holiday giving. This year we had four different non-profit organizations that we donated to:   The “Memphis” Stores collected over $2,000 in tricycles and other playground toys, books, puzzles and many learning tools for the New Hope Christian Academy Pre-K  through 1st Grade students!   Huey’s Southaven raised over $350 in household items needed for the Palmer Home along with some gift cards and toys for the kids! Making Strides Walk

Each year, Huey’s participates in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer 5K Walk, benefiting American Cancer Society. Every year we have a team called the Huey’s Hotfooters to raise money and try to reach our goal of $2000. The team of 18 all met at Tiger Lane this year on October 22, 2017 even in the rain! Another fun night at Zoo Rendezvous!

We had another great year serving up drinks at the main bar at Zoo Rendezvous at the Memphis Zoo September 9th, 2017. This year’s theme was “A Night at the Ritz” and had so much fun dressing the part! Thanks to everyone who joined us for the Memphis Zoo’s biggest fundraiser of the year. See you next year!
