Landon Blair is a beloved Huey’s bartender and is currently celebrating his 15th year with the company.
Born to two Memphis natives, this easy-going guy grew up in the Bluff City and is proud to call it home. “I love getting to work for a local restaurant in my hometown that has such a rich history in the city and a great family atmosphere,” he noted.
Landon first caught the bug for working in the restaurant industry bartending at another local establishment years ago. He spent a couple of years helping with electrician work and traveling but came back to the restaurant life when he was convinced to apply for the Huey’s team by multiple friends who worked at the stores.
He was originally hired as a server by longtime general manager Jimmy Lee. While he’s helped pick up shifts at a number of Huey’s locations over the years, Huey’s Collierville has always been his home store.
Landon recalls when longtime owner Thomas Boggs would come into the store, he would immediately lift the mood of any room he was in as he brought “a lot of energy and a good time.” This is the same energy his daughters and eldest son Alex continue to bring daily as they help lead the company in their father’s shoes.
Along with loving the flexibility of his work schedule, the support from the Boggs family is one of the main reasons he’s stayed with the company for so many years. “I really appreciate how they’ve always been good to me and the whole system they’ve helped create over the years,” Landon said. “They help do the hard work right along with us and I greatly appreciate how they’ve helped keep the family atmosphere over the years as we’ve continued to grow.”
Over the years, he’s gotten to know the Boggs family even more through events with the company and fun outside of work through volunteering, charitable giving to local nonprofits, and even playing on a Huey’s intermural softball league back in the day.
Congratulations on 15 wonderful years, Landon! We are so thankful to have had you in the Huey’s family and look forward to many more!
