Andrew Hogan: King of the Frill Picks

As many of you know, we host annual frill pick contests at each of our locations. Once a year, we knock down the picks and hold a contest, which raises money for the Memphis Zoo. Along with our customer frill pick contest, we also hold a behind the scenes employee frill pick contest as well. In short, the employee that raises the most money for the Memphis Zoo during the store’s annual frill pick contest wins a prize. Huey’s Downtown just wrapped up another successful frill pick contest, which in total raised $1354.00 for the Memphis Zoo. The employee that raised...Read More

Upcoming Shows + JP Soars

Huey’s Midtown is excited to welcome the outstanding and overwhelmingly talented JP Soars and the Red Hots to our stage on Sunday night, August 31st at 8:30pm. JP Soars is not a typical blues guitarist. He has a diverse musical background that encompasses a multitude of influences, such as T-bone Walker, Muddy Waters, Tito Puente, Miles Davis, Hank Williams, Black Sabbath and Slayer. Soars toured the globe and recorded several records with some of the most extreme metal bands in the world before finding his home in the blues. It is these attributes that are giving Soars an instantaneously recognizable style....Read More

Memphis on a Budget

We are excited to be featured in “Memphis on a Budget“, an article that came out today from USA Today focused on visiting Memphis on a budget. USA Today listed us as one of the top places to dine in Memphis for under $10 each, alongside Memphis greats such as Gus’ Fried Chicken, Jerry’s Sno Cones, Mosa Asian Bistro, and Bryant’s Breakfast. Even as Memphians, sometimes we forget about some of the fun times we can have in our city for cheap, or we are constantly discovering new places. Read the article, and discover a few new ideas on how...Read More

Volunteer Appreciation Party 2014

This year, as a big thank you to all of our employees who volunteered on behalf of Huey’s, we threw our first Volunteer Appreciation Party at Levitt Shell. We are proud to have over 25% of all of our employees at all locations participate in a Huey’s volunteer event in the last 2 years, and we wanted a way to say thank you. Here are some photos from the event.

A Day of Merrymaking 2014

This past Saturday, we rounded up a crew of awesome Huey’s employees and headed out to Overton Park for the second annual A Day of Merrymaking. We hosted a Huey’s Kids Zone, with a frill pick shooting game, a graffiti wall to color, and a bubbles play area. We had so much fun, and by the looks of it, the rest of the guests at Overton Park did as well! The weather was unexpectedly beautiful with warm temps, sunshine, and very little mud. We had our own live music to jam to, as well as enjoying the tunes from Moon...Read More

Support Free Live Music in Memphis

Memphis is special for many reasons. One of our favorite reasons at Huey’s is the opportunity to see free live concerts four days a week during the Levitt Shell Spring and Fall Concert Series. Huey’s is a proud supporter of the Levitt Shell, as we sponsor a show every year and our Vice President of Operations serves on the Board of Directors. Tonight is our sponsorship night, and we encourage everyone to come groove to Katie Herzig tunes with us. For a full line-up of the Levitt Shell Spring Concert Series, view the calendar on their website.

Madison is Midtown

If you haven’t been living under a rock for the last year or two, you know that Overton Square is making a huge comeback, and the effects of this incredible revitalization is trickling down Madison Avenue. Our original Huey’s location is located on Madison, off Tucker, and we couldn’t be more proud to be on the most happening street in Memphis. This street has it all: arts and culture, restaurants, nightlife, live music, parks, retail, fitness, and more in a super pedestrian and bike friendly way. Because of the fulfillment we get in operating on this street, we are proud members...Read More

Memphis is Home

Huey’s is a proud, Memphis institution. We’re proud of our staff, food, atmosphere, and amazing customers. We are also proud of our home, our Memphis. We all know Memphis has many great qualities, and we could sit and discuss them all day. Just recently there was a great blog post by Lance Weidower highlighting many of these, with the comment section highlighting even more. A great example is the incredible revitalization our city is undergoing as we speak, an admirable task with efforts from many. We should all keep bragging about our development, restaurants, parks, sports, industry, arts, and more. At Huey’s, we love...Read More

Down to Earth Fest 2014

Down to Earth Fest at Shelby Farms Park was an absolute success this past weekend! We were excited to spend the beautiful day out in the park, having fun and supporting Shelby Farms Park Conservancy at the same time. We hosted a Huey’s Kids Zone booth, where we played with bubbles, hosted a frill pick shooting game, and colored on a “graffiti wall”. Here are some photos of our fun. You can see the whole photo album on our Facebook page. Even the puppies had a blast. Watch how much they enjoyed the bubbles too: We hope you all have...Read More
