Deb Franklin has been at Huey’s Southaven for 15 years, and is a Rockstar bartender! She also knows the community like the back of her hand. We’re thrilled to introduce Deb to you, and thank her for 15 years of amazing work.

What has been your favorite part about working at Huey’s?

We’re just all a big family there, and that’s probably the main reason I’ve been there for 15 years, because I would miss everybody.

What’s the best part of working in the restaurant industry?

Just meeting different people, especially as a bartender. You see all kinds. Nothing surprises me anymore. Occasionally I might give advice, but for the most part I just like having fun back there, teasing. They call me grouchy. I have regulars all the time.

What’s your best memory from your time at Huey’s?

My time with a man named Terry Winston. He was the General Manager for Huey’s Southaven and he died of cancer four years ago. All the memories with him. He was just such a sweet man, just sweet as he can be. He would do anything and everything for anybody. I wish he was here still today.

What is a fun fact about you?

I don’t know if I really have any fun facts – I’m just old now! No, I’ve got four grandbabies now. They are my life. Two of them live here, two live in Deleware, and  I go and try to see them at least every four to six weeks. It’s nice having the flexibility to do that. It’s about my grandkids right now. They’re my whole world, I love them.

Huey’s has been a great place to work. 15 years is crazy to work in a restaurant. A lot of people say that, but I tell them you just have to work for them to understand. It’s such a big family.
