For the second year in a row, members of our Huey’s staff have come together to donate their time and money to feed the homeless Christmas lunch. This year we partnered with local nonprofit Eat Memphis to provide lunches to over 130 guests at Huey’s Downtown.
Each guest recieved turkey, dressing, green beans, sweet potatoes, gravy, and cookies. Thanks to all of the volunteers, the homeless were able to sit in a warm building with hot food, drinks, and great service. The kids all helped the homeless to their tables and kept their cups filled. Cortez and Jessica with Eat Memphis welcomed people in the door. They also gave out goody bags for them as they left, filled with apples, bananas, bottled water, and other necessities.
Christmas is so full of hustle and bustle and it was nice to take the time to stop and take care of those who need a little love. We were all blessed this day, and it showed through all the smiling faces that we fed. Thanks to everyone for all the hard work and great company.
