Huey’s to Open New Germantown Location
MEMPHIS (September 18, 2013) – As of September 17,2013, a lease agreement has been reached between Huey’s and The Kroger Company for the property 7677 West Farmington Boulevard in Germantown, TN. This property will be the location of the 8th Huey’s restaurant, scheduled to open in February 2014.
The property was previously occupied by Super D, who vacated the building in March 2010. Huey’s Germantown will have a capacity of approximately 130 customers, plus room for a very large patio.
Huey’s has been considering opening a new location for several years, and they have had their eye on the Germantown area for quite some time. “After several surveys, researched showed the consumer demand in the area. In addition, we have had many loyal guests that have asked for a location in Germantown, and we believe it is far enough away from our existing locations to not cannibalize existing store sales,” explains Lauren McHugh, President of Huey’s.
They were told about this specific property from a very loyal customer and longtime regular of Huey’s, Jerry Klein. They chose this specific location not only because of the nice aesthetics of the shopping center, but also because of its excellent location on the corner of a busy Germantown intersection, plenty of parking spaces, and it’s ease of access to enter and exit.
Huey’s has already starting working on their plans for Germantown. “It has been 10 years since we opened our last location. We are already working with the architect and contractor,” says McHugh.
With additional locations come opportunities for new employment. Huey’s is currently seeking qualified managers to join their team. Hiring for Front of House and Back of House staff will run from November through January, and more details about the process will be released on Huey’s Facebook in the near future.
A Grand Opening party will be held to celebrate the new addition to the Huey’s family in February.
