Each year, Huey’s participates in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer 5K Walk, benefiting American Cancer Society. Every year we have a team called the Huey’s Hotfooters to raise money and try to reach our goal of $2000. The team of 18 all met at Tiger Lane this year on October 22, 2017 even in the rain! Huey’s employees raised a total of $936, Huey’s Corporate matched it, plus a little more, to help us make that goal of $2000 for breast cancer research!
Making Strides is a national movement with walks across the nation during the month of October, all sponsored by American Cancer Society. This organization is a “nationwide, community-based voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem”. They are the largest voluntary health organization in The United States and have helped over 12 million cancer patients. To learn more about American Cancer Society, visit cancer.org.
